Lucid Gravity: The validation test phase is coming to an end

Lucid Motors is one of the electric manufacturers that want to end Tesla's hegemony. Their first model has established a chair because nobody expected that they would be able to offer the technological level with which they have entertained us. In fact, the Air is one of the models that has surprised at the WCOTY awards. Yes, because it has won the prize in the World Luxury Car category, beating heavyweights like the BMW i7...

Be that as it may, the Air will not be the only model that populates its range as the next one is already on the way. It is a large SUV called Lucid Gravity that promises luxury in abundance. And not only that but also a technological level that, if met, will make all its rivals pale. We already talked about it a while ago but now those responsible have gone a step further announcing that its development has entered the final phase and they demonstrate it.

The Lucid Gravity is scheduled to hit the market in the second half of 2024…

Along with the announcement they have published a couple of "spy" photos that partially show Gravity. In them, you don't see much beyond some design elements as the photographed unit is loaded with camouflage. First, we have a cut of its front in which its torn Full LED optics can be seen, as well as part of the bumper and two air intakes. One lower and two others vertically could hide some function of the lighting system.

The second "spy" image reveals the rear of the new Lucid Gravity. This plane is also covered by camouflage, leaving three elements visible, although the last one could be misleading. First of all, the very fine Full LED optics with the brand name in the upper central area. Second, what looks like reflectors on the bumper. Third, and the great doubt, it seems that it will have a bumper with simple and fluid lines...

Will the Gravity maintain, or not, the same technical specifications as the Air sedan…?

This is the big question that the launch of Gravity raises. We know that it shares a platform with the Air and therefore its mechanical organs should be common, but it is not confirmed. If so, two electric motors with up to 1,111 hp could offer heart-stopping performance. To feed itself, it could also use the 113 kWh battery that would provide a range that could reach 830 kilometers. But these data could vary...

Yes, because Gravity is bigger and heavier with, in addition, a worse aerodynamic coefficient. Hence, its range could be smaller, although the battery could also be more capable. This negative part comes thanks to the fact that it will have an interior with 5, 6, or 7 seats and 2 or 3 rows of seats. In addition, there will be high-resolution Glass Cockpit displays brought to life by the latest evolution of the Lucid UX infotainment system.
