In this article, I want to break a spear in favor of Chinese cars by showing you what for us are the three main reasons for purchase.
As soon as you follow the news of the automotive industry, you will have noticed that the volume of vehicles and brands from China has not stopped growing in recent years. Electric cars represent a window to Europe for these manufacturers who, until recently, had a very difficult time leaving their local market due to different factors.
However, now that it seems that everything is starting to be easier for Chinese cars, it is increasingly common to see new models coming to the Spanish market and we see them rolling on the roads. Today I want to break some stereotypes in favor of Chinese cars and show you what are, for us, the three main reasons to buy one today.
But not everything will be favorable. In this article, we are also going to show you a reason why you should think about it before making the decision to buy a Chinese car.
Reasons to buy a Chinese car today
A firm commitment to electrification
As I said a few lines above, most of the new brands that land on the Spanish market from China do so with a clear commitment to electric cars. Not because they are brands that only sell electric vehicles in Asia (at least not all of them), but because the electric car represents a market opportunity with a long way to go.
While European, Japanese, and American brands must evolve to adapt their business model from combustion to electric cars, China is launching new companies dedicated exclusively to electric vehicles, which represents a competitive advantage and a golden opportunity to enter the market. always coveted and demanding European market.
For this reason, one of the reasons for buying a Chinese car is that it will be really easy for you to find totally electric vehicles that have a 0 Emissions environmental label from the DGT and that, for the most part, tend to offer more than interesting autonomy to use in your car. day to day.
Many already meet the highest Euro NCAP safety standards
Gone is the stereotype that Chinese cars are not safe. Recent tests carried out by Euro NCAP, the reference safety body in Europe, have shown that most of these Asian vehicles already meet their high standards and obtain the highest rating in their tests, the coveted 5 stars.
It is enough to go to the Euro NCAP records to verify that many Chinese cars appear in the latest safety assessments and that almost all of them have the highest score. Examples of this are models such as the Chery Omoda 5, the Maxus Mifa 9, the MG4 Electric, the NIO ET7, the Wey Coffee 02, the BYD Atto 3, or the Ora Funky Cat, among others.
Low prices are your great asset to being competitive
The third reason to buy a Chinese car today is that prices are usually cheaper than the average for their segments, especially when compared to European brands. MG, a historic Chinese brand now under the umbrella of SAIC Motor, is the best example of this.
The company offers up to five different models within its range and allows you to buy a fully electric car for 20,480 euros (the MG4 Electric) with the aid of the MOVES III Plan included. The MG ZS with a gasoline engine also stands out for 13,990 euros, which makes it one of the cheapest cars on the market and, without direct competition, the cheapest SUV in Spain.
And a reason to think about it
Fear of the unknown
But there is also a reason why you should think about whether you buy a Chinese car or one from a European, Japanese, or American brand. The factor that will make you doubt is the fear of the unknown. And it is that these companies are, in many cases, newly created and come from a market that, for the majority of drivers, is still unknown.
They intend to compete with brands that have been in the European market for decades (and even more than a century), with sufficient reputation and quality to satisfy our demands as buyers. The same is not true of Chinese companies, which lack all these characteristics that can make any driver confident in buying one of the vehicles from him.
However, these same companies are doing a great job to break
into the European market, developing better and better vehicles, with more
quality, more technology, and advanced propulsion systems that you can buy at
prices, in general, lower than those of the competent.
