Given the last "seasons" of Earth's history, it seems more and more plausible that a new catastrophe will come to ruin the current world. Those known as 'survivalists' are those who are preparing for what may happen and the truth is that there is a car that is completely in line with their philosophy, the Apocalypse SuperTruck.
One only has to look at it to be clear that it has been conceived for the apocalypse in any of its forms and that is that there is not a single hint of subtlety in its design.
It has the base of a pick-up (specifically a Dodge Ram 1500), but it has evolved in such a way that it looks like a kind of large tank: it measures 6.10 meters long, 2.49 wide, and 2.10 High.
This is because the entire body wears a kind of armor. All the panels are covered by an armored epoxy resin that protects them from attacks with firearms, although the company does not specify what level of ballistic protection it grants.
The set is completely aggressive and not only from an aesthetic point of view but also functional. It uses solutions such as a steel rear bumper to protect the vehicle, but the most striking is the so-called 'Grumper', the combination of the grille and front bumper in one piece, designed to be able to ram other vehicles.
It also has useful additions to get out of tricky situations, such as the two front fixings to be able to tow it or the auxiliary lighting group on the front of the roof for driving at night.
It fits 22-inch wheels wrapped in all-terrain tires and the wheels protrude from the body so as not to find a stop in the long travel of its suspension, which is independent and has reinforced Dana 60 axles. This allows it to fly up to three meters high and fall without a problem, according to the brand, which claims to have tested this capacity 50 times.
Obviously, for a mass of such characteristics to be able to take off from the ground for such a distance, it must have a mechanical section that is at least forceful.
Of course, it is because under the hood it houses a supercharged Hellcat 6.2 V8 engine that has been modified to develop a power of 862 CV, which manages a permanent traction system with locking differentials and five driving modes. With such power, it can tow up to 6.8 tons of weight.
Logically, with everything that has been said, it was to be expected that it was not a cheap car, but the truth is that to buy an Apocalypse SuperTruck you need something more than breaking the piggy bank and that is the price of the creature is around 250,000 dollars.
But the SuperTruck is not the only model offered by its creators, Apocalypse Manufacturing. For those who don't like it, other vehicles with a similar cut are available, although all with six wheels: Dark Horse 6x6, Warlord 6x6, and Juggernaut 6x6.
