The first news is that MG has unveiled its new Black Storm edition of Gloster. You get a dark black theme, you get a new grill on the front, you get everything black on the side, and you get black alloys. You get red color in ORVM to make it look sporty, and you get a black accent on the side which looks weird. You get the same looks on the back, you get a red line on its bumper. You get red ambient lighting in its interior, and its starting price is 40.8L ex-showroom India which is quite okay! But I didn't like this car. MG Gloster has different looks, and sporty looks are not looking good on this car.
I like the elegant looks of this car, that's why this car is fine, if you want to buy it you can! The next news is that Aston Martin has unveiled its DB12, which is the successor of the DB11. You get the platform of DB11 but you get new upgrades. Like you get new lights on the front, which are bigger than before. You get an LED Matrix function in the lights, and you get a new grill, in which you get the shape of Aston Martin but the overall size of the grill is quite bigger than earlier, to increase the airflow inside the car. You get exactly the same looks as DB11 on the side you get new alloys, and you get the difference in its air-wends. And the looks are the same on the back. But the real upgrade is inside in this car, where you get a brand new interior, something like Bentley Continental GT, in which you get new steering with touch control, which is very cool.
You get a new instrument cluster in which you get many screens. You get the new and big screen in the center console, and you also get high-quality buttons which are giving the feeling of Bentley. There is a downgrade also in this car. There was an option for V12 in DB11. But there is no option of V12 in this car, you get a 4.0L Mercedes-sourced V8 engine, in which the power is quite good, the power is around 680HP but this is a V8 engine, and Aston Martin is made for V12 engines. So this is a little downgrade. But what can we do, to comply with emission norms brands have to do it.
The price is 4.8 crore ex-showroom India if you take options, then its price would be around 6 crore on-road. Which is obviously expensive, but what can we do, everything has become expensive. Then the next news which is bad news also, for 4x2 owners. You know that the brand has launched 4x2 Thar and there was no badging of 4x4, so distinguishing the cars was very difficult. That which car is 4x4 and which one is 4x2. Because the owners of 4x2 Thar can get the badge of 4x4 on their car and can get the same feeling. But from now, there would be a badge of RWD on the back of the new 4x2 Thar, so that the owners of the 4x2 Thar, have the ultimate offroading machine we have Thar which costs 18 lakhs.
But people can come to know that they are RWD Thar owners who have Thar which costs 12-13 lakhs, and I think it was necessary because 4x4 Thar owners would get relief, because their car was not able to differentiate themselves, and the second thing is that anyone can remove this badge easily, and get install the 4x4 badge.
It is not that it is a permanent thing, but at least the brand gave it, and any noob boy would remove this badge and would get a 4x4 badge. The next news is that the waiting backlog of Mahindra is high, in which this brand has 78k bookings for XUV700, 29k open bookings for XUV300 and XUV400, have 58k open bookings for Mahindra Thar, and 60-70k open bookings for Scorpio, so the brand is facing issues to manufacture and dispatch these cars. So this brand is increasing its production capacity from 39k to 49k in the next 6 months, so that the waiting period of 2 years can be reduced, and can be reduced to 1 year, and if you see, some of the booking numbers are fake also, because a lot of people book the car, and don't buy the car at the time of delivery.
Because the booking amount is fully refundable, so they don't have any tension! And I don't know whether I have updated you or not, but I have canceled by booking Scorpio N, which I took Z8 manual deep forest, because I didn't find any uniqueness, and I am getting bored of Scorpio, so I didn't buy it. I would buy Bugatti Chiron won't buy Scorpio N. That's why I have canceled its booking.
The next news is that Land Rover has disclosed its new logo officially, which would carry the new brand identity of this brand. It's just JLR written in normal fonts, and the R is cut, and it's an extremely simple logo. The CEO of Jaguar is saying that he wants to take this brand where it was 32 years ago, where this brand had an extremely good heritage, and customers used to buy its car because of this brand. And Land Rover is performing well, Range Rover and Defender have good brand recognition. So, now the customers would have ease because of restyling of the brand in selecting his car, and the brand would have ease in promotions.
The next news is that the CEO of Ferrari has said that he is not interested in making autonomous and fully electric cars. They want to make engine cars, which customers would drive themselves and enjoy them. He doesn't care that other brands are integrating AI technology in their cars providing good acceleration for good 0-100 in their EVs. They have to make engine cars with good technology and good performance so that the customers can feel good. And I think this is quite a good approach, because I think, in the coming time the sports car with an engine would be manufactured like this and would be sold like this like the luxury watches are sold today!
Because if you see, watches have no use-case because smartwatches have come. If you get good capabilities, but the feeling of owning a luxury watch that has 200 years old technology has real fun.
Similarly, it would happen with a sports car. It's not that sales would decrease, sales would increase. If anyone thinks that only EVs would be sold in the coming time, it's not going to happen! The next news is that there was a huge competition between Kia and Toyota, and Toyota won that competition last month. Last month, Toyota sold 19,379 cars which is 600 units more than that of Kia which is 18,766. And it happened after many years, that Kia was in the lead but now Toyota is in the lead.
And it is because Toyota has added its 3rd production line due to which their production has increased a lot, and the demand for Hycross and Hyryder is increasing, so the brand is enjoying it well.
And the lineup of Kia is getting old. Its Seltos is almost 4-5 years old,
no facelift version has come yet. So this brand has become old now, it would launch new cars to get the lead again!
And the next news is that Tata has introduced 13 new variants of Altroz. And now they have introduced a sunroof in Altroz, and now this car is India's most affordable car which has a sunroof. You can get an Altroz with a sunroof for just 7.9 lakh rupees, which is quite good and affordable, and they have also launched i-CNG, so if you want a sunroof with CNG you can buy that too and make a good combo! The next and last news is that Mahindra 5-door Thar is spotted, which confirms that you would get a sunroof in this car, as compared to a normal Thar which has no sunroof.
And there would be a new change, that there is a soft rooftop format in the 3-door Thar that is, you get a detachable roof. The roof and body of the cars are different units. But this 5-door car would be a proper car in which the roof and body of this car would be a single unit, like a normal car. So that the structural integrity can increase, and it can perform well in safety! And there is one more confirmation by Mahindra, that the 5-door Thar would be launched in 2024,
For this year, this brand doesn't have any cars to launch! Because there is already a long waiting period for its existing cars, the brand isn't able to make it. So there is no sense in launching a new car with 2 year waiting period, whereas this brand doesn't have production capacity! So this 5-door Thar would be launched next year. Let's see how it would be.
