Nissan Qashqai: Interested in the new e-POWER Black Edition?

There is a saying that goes "Who gives first, gives twice". This saying, as it is understood, cannot be applied to the Nissan Qashqai since he was not the one who created the SUV segment. The inventors of this niche were Toyota and the first-generation RAV4, but their impact was not as great. Hence, when the Qashqai was born in 2007, it was considered a pioneer, resulting in an unparalleled sales success that has lasted until today...

Currently, the Nissan Qashqai is in its third generation. It is the most mature and technological of the entire saga and this can be seen in the balance it has achieved in aspects such as design, quality, or equipment. But its strengths go further as Nissan has launched the e-POWER hybrid technology with it. And now that their offer is already solid, the firm is taking a step forward and making it more attractive with the e-POWER Black Edition version.

The new Nissan Qashqai e-POWER Black Edition looks

Externally, the design of the new Nissan Qashqai e-POWER Black Edition does not vary from its brothers. Where appropriate, the brand's designers have chosen to include their own design touches. Basically, it is the color combination resulting from three new shades for the body and the roof in black. Thus, you can choose the shade Katana Grey, Lunar White, or Midnight Black. On all, the 18-inch alloy wheels are black.

Inside doors, there are no changes but there is an additional detail. It is a trim that projects the name "Qashqai" on the ground when opening the front doors. And up to here we can read, although according to the brand, the intention to create this Qashqai e-POWER Black Edition is to reinforce its attractive design as well as its driving as a result of the e-POWER hybrid motorization. And here is the key to understanding its essence…

Is it available with all the engines in your range…?

Nissan's commitment to e-POWER technology is very important. It is a hybrid powertrain that has nothing to do with the one used by its partner Renault and that, on paper, allows power, performance, and consumption like those of diesel. In this case, the thermal part is carried out by a 1.5-liter three-cylinder gasoline engine with a variable compression ratio and a turbocharger that develops a total power of 156 CV.

Its function is to generate electricity that is transmitted through an inverter to the batteries. This is how the Qashqai drives the electric motor or, depending on the type of driving, both simultaneously. Therefore, in Nissan, they give priority to their new hybrid technology before the rest of the versions. Hence, the Black Edition version can only be purchased with this system and not with the other gasoline engines that make up its range.
