Its managers know that this trade name has a lot of weight, especially in regions such as Europe and Asia. In fact, this is related to one of the most luxurious premium SUVs: the Lexus LX. Therefore, it could be the case that Toyota would be working on the more restrained "Prado" version that would be based on the technique of the renewed Lexus GX that debuted days ago...
Of course, and here's the problem, when this model arrives in the US, it would lose the Prado surname with which it was associated generations ago. Be that as it may, that Toyota has been encouraged to recover this name for such a complex and fragmented market is already a joy. Therefore, if this information is correct, we would be looking at a model that would use the TNGA-F platform from the Japanese firm, which has given such good results and is very versatile.
As you already know, this platform is designed to mount hybrid mechanics and therefore it would be an option to take into account for the future. In fact, Lexus itself announced at the debut of the GX that a hybrid version would later arrive in the range and that, surely, it will be shared with the new Land Cruiser. There is also another question and it has to do with its aesthetics since it is expected to be more solid and square than now, so be patient...
