The Ultimate Electric Scooter Buyer's Guide: Which Brand Offers the Most?

Today we're going to be talking about electric scooters more specifically premium electric scooters sold in India because they're the ones helping form a positive perception about Electric Mobility as an alternate source for fossil fuel so here are your class Stoppers battling it out in a spec sheet Showdown.

If you've heard anything about EVS it must be their stupidly contagious acceleration speeds it's 0 or 100 no in between like a cheetah chasing a spray in this department the Ola S1 Pro takes the kick because its motor has the highest on paper spec and claims the highest top speed to the simple one though is a wee bit quicker off the line and in the urban jungle that's a bit more important than outright top speed big motors need bigger batteries to stake Big Range claims because what good is all that speed and fun.

If you can't go the distance on your daily commutes in this group almost all scooters will offer at least 100 kilometers of range. but only one says it has as much range as say the Tata Tiago EV or the mg Comet EV the simple one is packing the most= juice thanks to its Big 5-kilowatt hour hard and the way it got those many cells in it is quite clever actually, it has a fixed battery setup like the aethers and the Olas and also a removable battery setup like the Veda V1 next of Both Worlds and the benefits of the setup are evident while the Ola S1 Pro dominated the range game with a claimed IDC figure of 181 kilometers the one pumps out a claim 225 kilometers from a single charge.

That means even if I get say 170 kilometers of real-world range it means charging the scooter maybe once a week super convenient these bold-range claims are typically a function of riding these e scooters same Eco or normal mode the sportier riding modes come at a cost because just like a cheetah these e-scooters cannot sustain a sudden discharge of power for too long makes their batteries hot eating into their range which means you'll have to charge these scooters more frequently the simple one takes almost 6 hours to charge up to 80 percent big batteries are e-scooters first-world problems in this regard the Aether and the TVs IQ claim relatively faster charging time thanks to their relatively smaller battery pack so if you don't mind an electric scooter that offers say 90 to 100 kilometers of range and charge them say twice a week these two make for fantastic options to consider.

Please note a majority of these e-scooters are claiming these charging times using a powerful portable charger and not the slow charger that is bundled with the price of these e-scooters now this bit is important because stuff like seat height weight and under seat storage makes a scooter more welcoming to more members of the family so while the Ola S1 pro has the most underseen storage and the Bajaj chetak the most accessible seat the Acer 450x strikes the best compromise neither is it too tall.

It has sufficient space and it's the lightest on that note the simple one claims 30 liters of storage space but in reality once the portable charger is installed all you're left with is say 25 to 26 liters of big bulky portable chargers eating into storage space that's a real problem in all these electric scooters except for the Bajaj chetak because the chetak is the only one to get a clever April Mountain storage.

unit for its charger hence all that under-seat storage which Bajaj, by the way, is refusing to tell us how big it really is all usable this must be said though while 26 liters of Under Siege storage sounds more than decent most of that space is taken up by the portable charger in that regard the Ola S1 Pro makes the most utility with the simple one close behind also simple what's with the 796 mm seat height that's a 4 mm shot of the Himalayan.

There is only one king of features of the Ola S1 Pro saying otherwise is inviting hate in the comments besides useful features like navigation reverse mode Hill holds the S1 Pro is like a smartphone on Wheels with some of its features like party mode and riding modes seem gimmicky but they're cool enough to show off but if you focus on only the basics barring the chetak all of these e-scooters are more than competent however the Ola S1 Pro and the simple one are easily the most sophisticated and feature-rich e-scooters on sale in India today.

Came to which is a government subsidy to promote the sales of electric vehicles has helped considerably lower the price of these electric scooters in the past two years. but this subsidy pool has started to dry up and the cost of these electric scooters will soon go up hence with the revised Fame 2 subsidy prices the Ola S1 Pro is now the most accessible of the lot the Ather 450x once again becomes the most expensive that's it while most brands have shared the new fame 2 subsidy prices post the revision TVs and Bajaj is yet to update their prices on their respective websites whenever they do we'll update the same in a pinned comment below

ERS is pushing boundaries with every passing update each one of these e-scooters is bringing more value to the table to help us make the transition towards EVS so if an e-scooter strikes the perfect balance between fun and family like a scooter for your dad mom and sister then the Ola S1 Pro makes the most bang for the buck but if you want a pure family electric scooter then maybe the TVs IQ is the way to go but if you want a sporty e-scooter which floats your boat then the simple one seems like a way better option than the Aether too.
