Volkswagen Golf: Could your restyling sport this design? Maybe…

The eighth generation of the Volkswagen Golf was supposed to be a bestseller. And although the idea seemed to be at a great height, the final expectations have been far removed from the initial ones. The reasons that have caused this "fiasco" are many and varied, but there are some very notable ones. The first: SUVs have dealt a fatal blow to the compact segment and the T-Roc is a very powerful rival. The second: its technology…

Indeed, Volkswagen did not know how to measure the competition between T-Roc and Golf. The SUV was supposed to be on the market as a complement to the compact and not to eat up its sales. In addition, the Wolfsburg house did not calculate the negative impact that the use of which technologies could have. Especially the haptic controls that are arranged on the steering wheel and part of the dashboard. In addition, there are also those who have complained bitterly about his line.

The design of the renewed Volkswagen Golf will be more organic as well as refined and less polarizing…

If you are a faithful fan of Golf, you will have noticed that over the years it has lost part of its essence. It was born with a double optics front and a thin grill that over time has led to what we have today. These changes in themselves are not entirely bad, but there are elements that most purists have not liked. One of them is the front with single-focus optics that want to simulate the bifocal that the original had but that do not fit well.

Be that as it may, Volkswagen is already working on updating the current eighth-generation Golf. And perhaps it seems crazy but the units spotted were not heavily loaded with camouflage, so now a couple of renders have come to light that show how their update will be. We have not considered a new iteration as good because later the Golf will be electrified and the current one will still have to endure in the market longer than necessary.

Thus, always according to these renders, the optics become thinner and with less visual weight than the double spotlights. This reduction will be "disguised" by a new central molding that will cover the underside of the hood and that will be in charge of accommodating the logo of the brand. For its part, the bumper will be simpler with a fairer lower air intake in size. The side will not change and the rear will have new optics and a bumper with a renewed bass.

How will this aesthetic renovation affect other areas of the Golf…?

Although for now there are not many photos, the interior of the renewed Volkswagen Golf will change a lot. The evolution in terms of haptic controls will be remarkable, which will be replaced by conventional ones. These are called to improve ergonomics because functions such as lighting were entrusted to controls that seemed not to work as they should. In addition, a great improvement of the entire infotainment system is also expected…

In terms of technology, the renewed Golf is not expected to be a turning point. They will continue their foundations on the versatile and modern MQB platform that may be improved to offer greater electrification. But we will not know this until Volkswagen takes the step and announces what its range will be like, although it may announce when its launch will take place. We will have to be aware, because both the Golf and Volkswagen are at stake...
