The new
Mercedes-AMG SL 63 has become a mantra for tuning specialists. The Germans from
MANHART and Mansory have already gotten their hands on the luxury convertible
from the brand with the star and the next one has been BRABUS. The firm signs
up for special editions with the more than exclusive BRABUS 750 BodoBuschmann
Edition.
Until
now, BRABUS had not dared to touch up the new luxury convertible from the star
brand. The new Mercedes-AMG SL had only passed through the hands of a couple of
external but renowned tuners and, of course, German compatriots. MANHART and
Mansory are the ones that up to now have paid special attention to this luxury,
high-performance Cabrio, whose offer has not yet been completed and the wildest
version is still to come.
"In
the absence of bread, good are cakes", and why to wait until the new
Mercedes-AMG SL 63 S E Performance arrives, which, with its PHEV system with
more than 800 HP, will not only offer great performance but is also a
technology that until now tuning specialists have been reluctant to touch. The
"plain" SL 63 is already a good option for modification, and that is
what BRABUS has done with the new 750 BodoBuschmann Edition, making the model a
collector's item.
The BRABUS 750 BodoBuschmann Edition is an SL to the
beast
The
firm has pulled from its most exquisite catalog for this new proposal, inspired
by the BRABUS 7.3S presented in 1996 and based on the old Mercedes SL 600, one
of the true flagships of the market, with a canvas roof and four real seats
before to become a roadster, one of the models signed by BodoBuschmann, the
founder of the preparer.
The
limited edition bears his name in clear homage to that creation, and of which
only 25 units will be produced worldwide. The convertible stands out for its
glossy black paint and the impressive Monoblock II Evo alloy wheels, like the
original ones but made of 21-inch front and 22-inch rear forged alloy wheels.
And of course also the radiator grille with its own design, the front spoiler, and
the decorative applications around the large exposed carbon fiber air intakes.
The same material is used in the rear spoiler and in the aerodynamic diffuser,
which is completed with the four exhaust pipes embedded in carbon fiber trims.
The BRABUS Mercedes-AMG offers barbaric performance
With a
diamond-patterned quilted leather interior, the so-called "R-Sport"
design, and one of the founder's favorite finishes, the really interesting
thing is on the mechanical plane. The 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine has been
tweaked to make the convertible one of the fastest on the market, capable of
accelerating from zero to 100 km/h in just 3.3 seconds and reaching a top speed
of 315 km/h. which could be more although BRABUS says it is to "protect
high-performance tires". The price? It will only be between the client and
the preparer, so it must be something more obscene.
