The latest from Ferrari is a one-of-a-kind 600bhp supercar straight out of the Play Station

It is called Ferrari KC23 and there is only one in the world. This is the latest creation of the Special Projects program. It is essentially a race car in full dress, a thoroughbred intended to be used essentially on the track, without participating in any competition.

This one-off was commissioned by "one of the main collectors of the Prancing Horse". Its development has taken more than three years.

The KC23 is based on the Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo, considered the most successful racing car in Ferrari's history with 530 victories, but it sports exclusive bodywork designed for this unique car.

The design of the Ferrari KC23 has been carried out by Flavio Manzoni, author of the LaFerrari, FXX-K, the Ferrari 812 Superfast, the Purosangue, and, more recently, the SF90 XX, at the Ferrari Style Center.

A Ferrari GT3 in full dress

Finished in silver, the KC23 sports more futuristic bodywork than the 488 GT3 on which it is based, with side air intakes that automatically open when the car is started and concept-inspired glass front and rear LED light bars. virtual cars of 'Gran Turismo'.

Another futuristic trait is the absence of traditional side mirrors with, instead, slimmer-than-usual cameras that the brand says are more aerodynamic and visually appealing.

The rear wing can be removed when the car is on display, and the 18-inch racing wheels and tires can be swapped for 21-inch front and 22-inch rear wheels for stationary use.

Another striking feature of this car is the opening of its doors, vertically. In this case, it is not like the Ferrari Enzo and the Ferrari, whose doors also open shamelessly forward, but it is a 100% vertical opening, almost in the style of, excuse me in Maranello, a Lamborghini Countach. That's it, I've said it.

Interior-wise, the KC23 borrows elements from the 488 GT3 Evo but adds unique door panels, a different finish on the passenger side of the dashboard, and unique racing seats with Alcantara upholstery.

At the heart of the KC23 is the same 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 that powers the 488 GT3 Evo and drives the rear wheels. In the GT3 competition version -in which the regulation via the "balance of performance" equals the grid-, the engine develops close to 600 CV and delivers 700 Nm.

Although, of course, in the KC23 it could be more powerful since the car does not need to comply with any competition regulations.

As for the four-layer "aluminum-colored" paint, developed expressly for the car, it produces a "luminous sheen in sunlight," the brand says. Something that, if the weather is good, we will be able to see at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this weekend where the car will make its debut.
