Mercedes
has renewed its two families of "medium vans". On the one hand, the
Mercedes V-Class, Marco Polo, and EQV receive important exterior appearance
changes, a new dashboard, new equipment, newly designed wheels, as well as a
new color palette for the body.
On the
other hand, the Mercedes Vito and eVito (manufactured in the Spanish plant in
Vitoria for the whole world) receive a similar update, although somewhat more
modest, with a prominent interior role for the central screen of the MBUX
interface.
This is
how the new Mercedes V-Class, Marco Polo, EQV, Vito, and eVito change
Awaiting
the arrival in 2026 of the next generation of Mercedes commercial vehicles,
based on the modular and scalable electric architecture VAN.EA, the current
Mercedes models have undergone a facelift with a view to keeping both their
look and feel up to date. your equipment offer.
The
update affects both models with combustion engines and electric ones, of which
more than 40,000 units have been sold to date, with the eVito as the leader
among plug-in models.
Starting
with the Mercedes V-Class is available with four trim levels: the generic
finish and the Style, Avantgarde, and Exclusive lines. For its part, the EQV is
offered only in Avantgarde finish. There are also optional styling packages
such as the AMG Line and the Night package (for the V-Class) or the EQV styling
package (for the EQV). For its part, the Marco Polo camper has its specific
level of finish. Finally, the Vito and eVito are offered with base, Pro, and
Select finishes.
All the
vans have a new frontal design, with a remodeled grille and bumper. In some
equipment of the Mercedes V-Class and derivatives, an LED light strip surrounds
the grille, while the V-Class Exclusive adds, for the first time in the model's
history, a vertical Mercedes star on the bonnet. The most interesting element
of the redesign, however, is the optional adaptive LED Multibeam headlights.
At the
rear, the newly designed bumper and LED taillights with blacked-out trim help
distinguish the refreshed models. There is also a new chrome trim on the
Mercedes V-Class and its derivatives.
The
side view is characterized by the adoption of new wheel designs (five for the
Mercedes V-Class and its twins, as well as three for the Vito and eVito)
designed to reduce aerodynamic turbulence from the wheels. In addition, in both
ranges, there are five new colors for the bodywork.
The
MBUX interface takes center stage inside the Mercedes V-Class
Both in
the Mercedes V-Class and in the eVito and in the derivatives of both models we
find a redesigned driving position with new touch screens, redesigned air
conditioning nozzles, and a new generation of steering wheels with capacitive
sensors that detect if the hands are supported.
For the
first time, the Mercedes V-Class, EQV, and Marco Polo have two joined 12.3-inch
widescreen displays, in line with the brand's sedans and SUVs. For its part,
the Vito and eVito are equipped with a 10.25-inch center screen and a new
instrument cluster that combines analog dials with a 5.5-inch color screen.
An
optional wireless smartphone charging pad is incorporated into the new center
console of both models. It can also be equipped with a keyless start, a heated
steering wheel, and new dimmed rear lighting for driving at night.
To all
this, the Mercedes V-Class and Marco Polo add ambient lighting with 64 colors, and
in both V-Class and EQV, the sliding door on the left side of the vehicle is now
included as standard equipment. For its part, the electric tailgate is
available for the Vito and eVito. In addition, the electric parking brake now
comes to all commercial models with automatic transmissions.
It
should also be noted that the MBUX (Mercedes-Benz User Experience) information
and entertainment system is new in the case of the Vito and eVito, while in the
V-Class and derivatives, it adds the possibility of having additional functions
such as the transmission of music, Energizing comfort functions and navigation with
augmented reality.
In
addition, MBUX now includes increased computing power, additional specific
functions, and views for electric models (EQV and eVito), as well as parking aid
functions displayed on the central display. The system allows the creation of
seven different profiles so that each user has a vehicle adapted to their
preferences.
The
interface also allows you to subscribe to additional services. Some are free,
such as the management of maintenance, accidents, and breakdowns or the remote
locking and unlocking of doors and the opening and closing of windows. Other
services such as navigation with live traffic information, Car-to-X communication, and extended MBUX functions with the “Hey Mercedes” language assistant may
require additional charges.
Additionally,
the Mercedes EQV and eVito can have the digital service Mercedes me Charge,
which offers customers access to a European public charging network with more
than half a million charging points, including chargers from the IONITY
network. You can discriminate by renewable sources or pay automatically with
Plug & Charge, all without the need for manual authentication, since the
charging station communicates directly with the vehicle through the charging
cable.
Navigation
with Electrical Intelligence for EQV and eVito
The
MBUX interface allows both the EQV and the eVito to plan routes based on the
available charging points, their prices, and the vehicle's charging needs. In
addition, there are other related functionalities, such as air conditioning
settings. To all this are added new driving assistance systems and the
aforementioned Multibeam LED adaptive headlights. Each has 84 individually
controllable LED lamps that switch on and off selectively to keep as much light
as possible without dazzling other road users.
