BMW claims a range of 108 km per charge, and real-world testing confirms this figure. This allows for extensive city commutes on a single charge. When equipped with the fast charger, the CE 02 charges fully in just over 3.5 hours, which is impressive for an electric two-wheeler. Given the rising adoption of EVs, such a quick charging time is a valuable feature.

Braking and Handling

The braking system on the CE 02 is generally reliable but has a significant drawback—lack of rear ABS. Under hard braking, the rear wheel tends to lock up, especially when using a riding mode with strong regenerative braking. Riders will need to be cautious and adjust their braking style accordingly.

Despite this flaw, the CE 02 excels in handling. The upright riding position and lightweight chassis make it nimble and easy to maneuver in city traffic. Manufactured at TVS’s Hosur plant, the BMW CE 02 is priced at INR 4.99 lakh (including the Highline Pack), making it one of the most expensive electric two-wheelers in the Indian market. While it is significantly cheaper than BMW’s other electric models, it is still a premium offering.

That said, buyers of the CE 02 are not looking for practicality or affordability. Instead, this is a lifestyle vehicle—one that offers unique styling, modern technology, and an engaging riding experience. For those who value brand prestige, innovation, and urban fun, the CE 02 is an attractive option.
